Found this pic on Natural Girls Rock’s Facebook page and loved it. Everything about this photo says effortless beauty… everything except for those shoes. They’re completely drool worthy. They’re simple enough to work with what she has on,  but those subtle hints of red the more brazen goldish body… make the whole look just pop.

Luscious Tresses! I can’t deal with how fabulously dope her hair is.

DIY Hair Butter: I generally prefer not to mix my own hair products because it’s time consuming and isn’t worth the effort. I am currently using a hair butter that was made by one of my friends. She mixed the butter based on the recipe in this video. Fortunately, I still have quite a bit of it left, but when I start to run low I will definitely try my hand at making this because it is “the bomb” (in my Jesse Pinkman Voice)

So, I came across this at Ricky’s late last week. I was toying with the idea of buying Miss Jessie’s Curly Pudding, actually I’m still toying with the idea. After seeing and smelling this, I thought it would be interesting to try. Carol’s Daughter has a sampler of their new Hair Milk curl care formula. CD doesn’t really float my boat, but this product sparked a bit of curiosity.

Basically, this is a day old (gel free) wash and go that looked like a haystack after the satin bonnet came off. I wet my hair, slightly all over and moisturized it with a Shea Butter mixture. I smoothed the front down with an opened ended hair tie ( thin scarves, a leg removed from a pair of tights would do the trick as well). To avoid any lumps or bumps wrap the tie around your hair multiple times, make a small knot and tuck in the ends. Find the center of your oversized pony tail and distribute an even amount of hair all around. Starting from the back, roll your hair, tucking the ends under, adding bobby pins as you go to secure the bun. After a few more pins I was able to get my jumbo bun to have an even shape all over. Shake your head to be sure your bun is secure, who has time to make multiple bathroom runs to touch up their hair? I loved the idea of this style more than I loved the actual result… But it was quick, easy and neat enough to wear to work.

Are you a natural hair nazi?! A friend and I met up and she brought up this article. It obviously piqued my interest. My hair regimen is non- negotiable, I have hair semi- strict hair rules and I dream of a pudding that will not only maintain my curls (frizz- free) but also leave them without that “frozen” untouchable feeling.  I was immediately concerned that I might be a Natural Hair Nazi… Luckily, I’m just a product junkie. (whew, dabs forehead) click the link to view the article. SN: Don’t ask Solonge about “No Mo” Natural Hair

Cod Liver Oil. That mess just sounds nasty. It is supposed to do all of these wonderful things for your skin, nails, and hair… but how much am I willing to suffer to enhance my already (ridiculously) prevalent cuteness? My skin is eh, my hair is cool, the real reason (for my giving this Cod Liver Oil business any though) is my God Awful Nails! They are weak and brittle. My daily multivitamin does nothing to improve the condition of my nails,  my skin, I think has only improved because of age and obligatory diet changes I’ve made over the past year… Clicking on the pic will lead you to The Moptop Maven’s blog entry in it. Would you down two spoons of Cod Liver Oil everyday?
